About Mirza
Ashra Mirza is an FNP with a passion for helping patients improve their quality of life. She is board certified with ANCC and earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Oakland University for Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining the Enhance family, Ashra worked 5+ years for Neurosurgery for complex spine and trauma giving her a broad knowledge of the brain and spinal cord injury patients, along with complex spine patients' needs and post-operative patients.
Working in surgery, Ashra has a great understanding of the spectrum of treatment including conservative treatment, invasive procedures vs open surgical options. In addition to her Bachelors in Nursing, Ashra also obtained a Bachelors in Psychology. This base gives her added insight into the patient mindset and mental health, esp for patients undergoing traumatic events.
Additionally, Ashra has 6+ years working closely with patients in surgical and trauma ICU providing a greater supportive relationship with her patients. Her history of working in ICU as a nurse has combined now with her years of working as a nurse practitioner in both the acute hospital setting and outpatient clinic setting to provide great interpersonal communication, empathy, and knowledge to provide the best care of patients.
Ashra also has first-hand experienced being involved in a roll-over accident, prompting her the understanding and compassion to relate to patients' needs and concerns. During Ashra’s personal time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family, friends, and her newest family member, her cat. She enjoys cooking and would take any opportunity to travel. Her favorite trip is to Arizona to hike.
